Hello everyone,
Today is our last day in Cambodia, and I am very sad to be leaving. I have developed a certain affinity for this strange nation, and I look forward to following her developments from afar. This afternoon, we're flying to Vientiane, Laos (the capital), and tomorrow we're heading to Luang Prabang, the former Laotian capital that is now recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site (we seem to have visited many of these on this trip). From Laos, we'll be traveling to Indonesia for about a week. We hope to visit Yogyakarta and two large temples (one Buddhist and one Hindu) in that area of Java. Then we're planning a couple of days in Bali before heading to Singapore to catch our flight home. Internet access may be sporadic, but hopefully the global proliferation of wifi will prove fruitful. Assuming there are no complications, I should be landing at O'Hare on the morning of August 20. I hope all is well for each of you, and I look forward to seeing friends and family very soon!
Much love,
Katie
